I have seen the SLAVE for many times, but never been before looking at the famous sculpture so carefully. With the thickened back, as if he is carrying a large heavy turtle's shell, with the arms and hands bond tightly to his body, he nearly has no way to strugle, but bearing all the burden loaded on his body and his life. However strong enough are the musle and bones of his leges, there is no possiblity of freedom to look forword to, under the unbearable weight on him.

The guide was enthusiastic, friendly and from the UK ! She was also very knowledgeable, maybe too much. The works of art that we saw in real life were astounding.

The guide Julian was perfect. He knew the best places to see the works of art, showing us the main ones in each gallery, including the Mona Lisa, which we had a perfect view of. He passed on his knowledge of Greek and Roman Renaissance art and Italian and French paintings. I was very satisfied with the approximately three-hour tour.

Our tour guide Ruth was informative, funny and patient. She showed us very curated history of the Louvre and important artwork in a museum that can be extremely overwhelming.

Our tour guide Titouan was wonderful. He was knowledgeable, calm and super friendly. Even with the little obstacles we faced where some parts of the museum was closed, he kept us engaged till those parts were opened. We had such a good time really. The tour group was easy to locate at the meeting point and we were on time. The tour managers were even willing to wait for a little more time for thr last member of our party. Such wonderful people.

What to expect on a private tour of Louvre Museum

  • Meet your expert guide at the entrance: Begin your journey at the designated meeting point in front of the Louvre. Your expert guide (usually a licensed art historian) welcomes you and outlines the tour’s personalized itinerary while ensuring a swift check-in process with skip-the-line benefits.
  • Explore masterpieces at your own pace: Your guide directs you to critical works such as the Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo. Each room is explored with thorough explanations of style, symbolism, and historical context, transforming the museum into a classroom of wonder.
  • Customized route through the Louvre: Your guide crafts a route based on your interests, whether that means focusing on iconic Renaissance artworks or exploring hidden gems rarely highlighted in group tours. Expect stories behind each artifact and unique behind-the-scenes details.
  • Flexible scheduling and special requests: Need extra time at a particular painting or want to skim over an exhibit? Private tours offer flexible scheduling and customization options, ensuring that every moment aligns with your personal interests.

Meet your expert guide

Not just anyone can lead a private Louvre tour. Your guide is a licensed art historian, often with advanced degrees in art history or museology, and years of experience bringing the museum's masterpieces to life. They know the museum inside out, from hidden passageways, the best crowd-free timings, and subtle details that make the art unforgettable.

Expect more than facts. A private guide becomes a storyteller, curator, and conversation partner, ready to adapt the pace, depth, and focus of the tour to your interests. With them, the Louvre feels less like a museum and more like a place of private discovery.
